Previously, your University\u2019s cooperation with mining businesses was not so apparent, while now it has become completely obvious. We believe that this kind of partnership deprives the University of its academic reputation &#8211; an institution that acts for in the interests of science and the public. Let us point out that environmental conservation and public interest are unalienable. Education, when it does not serve public interests, it then serves private profit solely ; is so, AUA should make its position clear to the public.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-5990\" src=\"http:\/\/www.armecofront.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/01-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"0\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dev.armecofront.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/01-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/dev.armecofront.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/01.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The topic of the event is related neither to natural sciences, nor to social sciences, even though AUA might try to justify it with the slick argument of \u201cpromoting academic discussion on mining issues\u201d. This event is about public relations, misleading communities, and the babble called \u201ccorporate responsibility\u201d; in reality, it only serves to improve Lydian\u2019s suspicious reputation through the American University of Armenia and contributes to whitewashing the vast <a href=\"https:\/\/l.facebook.com\/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.armecofront.net%2Famulsar%2F%25D5%25A1%25D5%25B4%25D5%25B8%25D6%2582%25D5%25AC%25D5%25BD%25D5%25A1%25D6%2580%25E2%2580%25A4-%25D5%25B4%25D5%25AB%25D5%25BB%25D5%25A1%25D5%25A6%25D5%25A3%25D5%25A1%25D5%25B5%25D5%25AB%25D5%25B6-%25D5%25B0%25D5%25A5%25D5%25B2%25D5%25AB%25D5%25B6%25D5%25A1%25D5%25AF%25D5%25A1%25D5%25BE%25D5%25B8%25D6%2580-%25D6%2583%25D5%25B8%2F&amp;h=ATMv8U9eDZCTd6iCUwCsSgIBYCJYksSg-ibabtCyCUX23RpLXnDKBmEoJ4w8KMeg_iSqpsCSGn9WKHIUEMH4DLEdA9VLBJB85oCx5Ia9FpSjfhnoVozMH-Jk9iew1D0clfSSYr0UBA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-lynx-mode=\"asynclazy\">academic criticism<\/a> of the shortcomings of the environmental impact (especially the negative impact on water resources) of gold-mining in Alumsar. This kind of a meeting should rather be organised by Lydian in its own premises.
